Anaesthetics and Analgesics 

For Dogs and Cats

An injectable solution to be used as a sedative and analgesic in the restraint of dogs and cats.

Active ingredient: Medetomidine hydrochloride 1mg/ml

Pack size: 10ml

Indications for use: 

• Dogs: Sedative, analgesic for use in the restraint of dogs for clinical examinations and procedures, minor surgery and pre-anaesthesia.
• Cats: Sedative for restraint.

Dosage: 

• Dogs: Give by intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection. Mild sedation: 10 to 30 microgram/kg (0.1 to 0.3ml/10kg). Moderately deep sedation, analgesia: 30 to 80 microgram/kg (0.3 to 0.8ml/10kg). Pre-anaesthesia: 10 to 20 microgram/kg (0.1 to 0.2ml/10kg). To achieve an equal effect, the higher recommended doses/kg bodyweight have to be used in small dogs compared to large dogs.
• Cats: Give by IM injection only. Moderate sedation: 50 to 100 microgram/kg (0.25 to 0.5ml/5kg). Deep sedation: 100 to 150 microgram/kg (0.50 to 0.75ml/5kg).

Storage: After first broaching the vial, store upright and use within 90 days. Discard the unused portion. Store below 30°C (room temperature). Do not freeze.
